Next Year
By: Eileen

There are only a few months left of school. Going into the next chapter of our lives is exciting, but some of us just don't want to leave what we had the past school year. We will miss people, classes, and the part of our lives that we will leave behind. Here are some of the students' thoughts on going to the next grade.

6th Grade:

Elijah

Q: How did you feel about starting at a new school?
A: It was fun and scary.

Q: How do you feel about going to 7th grade?
A: I don't really know.
Joscelyn

Q: How did you feel about starting at a new school?
A: I was nervous. It was okay.

Q: How do you feel about going to 7th grade?
A: I feel horrible because they're might be more
    drama.

7th Grade:
Priscilla

Q: How did you feel about the transition from 6th to 7th grade?
A: Better because 7th grade is more interesting.

Q: How do you feel about going to 8th grade next year?
A: I feel scared because it might be hard.
Jordan

Q: How did  you feel about the transition from 6th to 7th grade?
A: It wasn't that hard. It was more of a feeling of being older rather than being kids.

Q: How do you feel about going to 8th grade next year?
A: I'm excited to be the big kids and not the younger kids anymore.

8th Grade:
Rashad

Q: What do you think is the difference between 8th grade and all of the other grades?
A: I feel like 8th grade is at the top of the food chain.

Q: How do you feel about going to a new school once again?
A: I feel like I'm going to be at the bottom of the fishbowl.
Chloe

Q: What do you think is the difference between 8th grade and all of the other grades?
A: I got closer to a lot of people that I never thought  I would. It's a great experience.

Q: How do you feel about going to a new school once again?
A: A little shakey but it's okay because it doesn't matter if I stand out or fit in. I'm definitely going to miss my best friend.

Many people will be sad to leave, happy to move on, excited for next year, and terrified for what's to come in the future. Eighth graders will move on to high school. Seventh graders will then be at the top of the school. Sixth graders will then be in the middle. Fifth graders will be the fresh meat once again.
Some of us will go separate ways, some will move on, and some will have a fresh start. Good luck to all!
